Dear All
It is with much regret that I must inform you that the Authoring Seminar, scheduled to take place 22-23rd September 2009 has been cancelled.
A number of factors contributed to this difficult decision but the main reasons were the lack of uptake and the unfortunate clash of dates with the FutureSource sponsored ESCA conference, taking place in London 22-24th September.
Although many individuals showed great interest in participating, the negative economic climate continues to impact on company spend which meant that costs for training, and travel especially, have been severly reduced or cut altogether.
From a BDA perspective, the organisation could not justify hosting an event that would require a large number of speakers to be flown into Europe to present to an audience of so few. As the global financial situation slowly starts to improve however, we will consider our options for arranging a similar event during the early part of 2010.
For those who had registered for this seminar and indeed arranged flights and travel, I whole-heartedly apologise for the inconvenience this will cause you, and would like to assure you any funds lost as a result will be reimbursed by the BDA (please contact event@bdauthoringevents.com regarding the refund procedure).
Otherwise I would like to again apologise for the seminar cancellation but hope that we can look to next year to host a successful authoring event.
Best regards,
Niels Leibbrandt
